Owner: Crouse Hospital
Architect: Louis A. Porcaro, Architect
The Chris J. and Marshia K. Witting Surgical expansion involved a four-story expansion to Crouse Hospital. The project was made up of a series of renovations to existing space as well as the addition to a growing hospital community. A cast-in-place shell houses the power plant and air handling systems in the sub-basement and basement. The nearly 20,000 square foot first floor added 14 new, state-of-the-art operating rooms. The second floor is reserved for future expansion. All of this happened in an area surrounded by existing, century-old structures, making this project an even greater challenge.
